"The Good:
• The views are phenomenal.
• The amenities are pretty top-notch.
• The location is incredibly convenient.
• The apartments are a pretty great size.
• The building has a 24h concierge (usually a very nice and helpful person).
The Bad:
Get ready for every single food delivery, package delivery, and visitor to become a frustrating game of "mobile wheres waldo". There are three garages, and three or more entrances. People don't know how to describe where they are well enough to find them. Some of the garages are easier to find than others, but they all share the fact there is very poor signage about where they are and what they are for, especially from the street. Worse yet, there are strict rules about where people can or can't park, and also an obnoxious "reimbursed" parking for $5 (that is not explained) and drivers hate it. The Leasing office and parking people blame drivers and others for not following procedures, but make almost no effort to explain said procedures. Most people give up and just park on the side of the street. I've seen dozens of people get "the clam" on their windshield for this, mostly uber eats drivers who couldn't figure out the parking situation, and were in and out briefly. Furthermore, they usually find it very difficult to get into the building at all. You're just supposed to know where the doors are, how to use the terminal, know to go to the lobby (where the concierge is) to get up to the rest of the building, etc.
The crosswalk under the garage is also weirdly like Tesla self-driving kryptonite. I've seen multiple teslas pull onto the (fairly long) crosswalk and drive in it like a lane. I was crossing once when this happened and it was a little terrifying but it's usually not a problem.
The pool on the roof floods seasonally. The first time it happened we were spared. The second time it happened, we had some minor water damage. We were a month away from moving out and the leasing office and contractors were coming in and out (to do work that definitely could have waited... like painting over water stains on the drywall) as I was packing up and it ended up being a massive pain in my ass.
The building claims to be dog friendly, but every patch of grass near every entry or exit to the building has a "no dogs" sign on it, and the nearest "ok" place to take your dog is the next block over, or in one of the two dog parks. Most people ignore the signs.
The past-due rent reminder comes one day *after* they fine you for being late.
The rent increases a few hundred bucks after every lease. They really push you to make your lease 13 or 15 months, which... well I get they want to stagger move-outs but it's very inconvenient.
The massive size of the apartment complex means that there is always a fire alarm going off on one of the floors (fire trucks visit every 1-3 days). You get used to it. We had to evacuate due to alarms on our floor about once every six months."
